Halloween Book Week: Children’s scary and suspenseful books

Today is all about the children and we’ve had a lot of books sent into review, so I’m going to group them into the following posts:

• Picture books for Halloween and beyond
• Chapter books for Halloween and beyond
• YA fiction for Halloween and beyond
• Other children’s books for Halloween and beyond

A lot of the books mentioned or reviewed today have been sent to us by the publishers. We have good relationships with lots of children’s publishers as we write quite a lot of picture book reviews here, and many of them sent us books from their catalogues that fit the theme. As we received so many books, we haven’t had time to fully read them all, and we don’t really have the time and space to do our usual full-on reviews with photos and videos. For the most part, we’re including covers, blurb and a couple of lines of what we think, though some that we were particularly taken with may get a bit extra. There’s a good chance that we’ll do fuller reviews of a lot of these in the next month or two.
