Halloween Book Week 2012
Welcome to Halloween Book Week 2012 – a week of book posts around the theme of Halloween. We have ghosts and ghouls (Monday), children’s scary and suspenseful books (Tuesday), horror and witchcraft (Wednesday), thrills and chills (Thursday) and writing suspense and fear (Friday).
We have a combination of guest posts from other bloggers, some posts and interviews from authors and a lot of reviews, with my occasional blathering thrown in. We were sent so many books to review that I haven’t managed to fully read them all, so will have plenty of reading material for the next few weeks. For the ones I haven’t managed to fully read, I’ll be giving you my insight, based on a flick through and reading one or two chapters, as well as the publishers’ blurb, cover picture and, where I can find them, links to other reviews.
Sadly, we didn’t get anyone submitting stories or poetry, which is a shame as I think this theme is particularly suited to short stories. I may put up some juvenilia of my own, though I also haven’t written anything new for it. (There’s still time, though.)
I will try to tweet every post and will use the hashtag #HBW2012, so you should be able to get a daily glimpse by searching for that hashtag (or just come to www.wahm-bam.org and go from there, of course). I’m probably not going to pimp every single post on other social media, but rather do a couple of posts a day on Facebook and Google+ with links to all posts for that day. Please do share the Halloween Book Week with your own circles and groups that would be interested.
Come back later today for the start of the ghosts and ghouls day…
