What a great start to the day
This morning, we were ready half an hour before we needed to leave (to hand the girls over to my mum, who looks after them both a fair bit during the school holidays). Instead of mooching around the house waiting for it to be time to go (and probably doing something very dull like filling up the dishwasher), we decided to go to the park instead.
Although it was windier than it has been recently, it was still a lovely (and dry) day and the girls had fun going up and down the slide and running through the play park. Rosemary pretended there was a fire and then lightening that we needed to shelter from. Eleanor ran around dropping her teddy and saying ‘Uh-oh, teddy,’ then picking him up and saying ‘Ah’. And I took lots of pictures and didn’t look at my phone at all – oh, OK, I used the phone to take the pictures, but I didn’t check Facebook or Twitter or even work email.
After the girls went off with my mum, I popped into the Co-op for groceries and then had a very pleasant stroll back through the park, with a big smile on my face. And, yes, I might have had a quick look at email and Facebook while I walked.
How are you finding the holidays? Do you have an accommodating relative to look after the children while (if) you work? Have you had any moments that made you smile?
