Clean freaks, avert your eyes…
Somehow, I managed to talk myself into airing my dirty laundry on my blog – well, not quite, but I am going to show you the insides of our fridge. People all over the (UK parent) blogosphere have been displaying the contents of their fridges. I thought it sounded like fun, so took some photos of our fridge. But then, when I looked at them I decided I couldn’t possibly put them on the internet, because then everyone would know how desperately our fridge needs cleaning. Silly me, though. I went and told Nickie @ Typecast this and she has forced me – you know, at gunpoint and everything – to post the fridge pictures. So… here you go (oh yes, and my photo-taking skills are as lacking as my cleaning abilities):
Top shelf: Jar of something or other, two tubs of Philadelphia, at least one tub of Flora Buttery (probably two), a tub of Co-op Tarmasalata, a jar of Helman’s mayonnaise and a lemon.
Second shelf: Lots of Petit Filous tubs – some at the back and some at the front -a chorizo in a sandwich bag, some lettuce and tomatoes, something in a plastic tray – probably some meat or fish – some more Flora Buttery, some (raspberry) jam and another lemon.
Third shelf: Two sticks of garlic bread, a loaf of Hovis thick white, a loaf of Co-op Oatmeal Batch and what looks like a bag of carrots.
To drawer: Celery, some onion peel
Second drawer: Some onions, some potatoes and some more onion peel.
Bottom drawer: Empty except for a lovely stain from a spill, or possibly some vegetables that got very old? I don’t think it’s the latter, because even I would clean it out after that.
Dairy compartment: Goat’s cheese, mature cheddar, mild cheddar, butter and parmesan.
Top door shelf: Various jars of condiments and sauces, including some Jalapeno relish and some tomato puree, and a bottle of water.
Second door shelf: Some shredded suet that’s been there for a long time (obviously nothing to do with me), another bottle of water, some tomato ketchup, the girls’ favourite drink at the moment (Co-op apple and mango juice), blue milk for Eleanor.
Third door shelf: Tonic water (or maybe soda water), fizzy water, green milk for us.
Fourth door shelf: Empty because my dad broke the front of it about 8 years ago, when extricating a bottle of wine. Shame because, as I recall, it was the perfect size for wine bottles.
So there you have it. The stain at the bottom is the main culprit, though if there were less food in there, it would be clear that the rest of it needs a clean, too.
If you fancy showing everyone the insides of your fridge (don’t go and clean it and restock first!), then consider yourself tagged.
