Book Week round-up: Day 2: Learning to read
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s posts and found them interesting and informative.
We started with my experiences of learning to read and how we’ve been helping Rosemary with her reading in The cat sat on the mat this morning.
A bit later, we had a teacher’s tips on Helping your child learn to read from Suzanne (Ghostwritermummy)
This was followed, mid-morning by Linda’s insights into helping children to love reading.
Mid-afternoon saw a post from early years consultant, Rachel McClary of rightfromthestart, with tips on preparing children for reading.
And in the late afternoon there was a post from Jenny Goddard (my mum) about how to help teenagers and adults learn to read.
Why not also take a look at an earlier post from Coffee Lady, who has some tips to encourage reluctant readers. I love the idea of telling them not to stay up all night reading and then leaving a strategically placed torch!
Tomorrow is all about libraries. Don’t forget to have a look in and read what people have to say about their experiences of public libraries.
