Reading and sleeping
This is what Eleanor tends to do when she wakes up in the middle of the night (wakes up properly I mean – not when she wakes up, has some milk then goes straight back to sleep):
Now (showing off cute pictures of my almost-one-year-old daughter aside), I am obviously overjoyed that she chooses to sit reading books rather than screaming her eyes out or climbing all over the furniture (she does plenty of that during the day), but… I’d prefer it if she’s just go back to sleep. Or, even better, sleep all night.
She doesn’t do it every night, thankfully. Maybe once or twice a week. She frequently wakes and goes back to sleep herself. She sometimes goes back to sleep with the help of some music from Paolie (My Pal Scout). She often goes back to sleep after some milk. She sometimes goes back to sleep with a bit of rocking. And then, every now and then, she decides that it must be morning and is wide awake. Half an hour to three quarters of an hour later she’ll be tired and go back to sleep with some milk.
So… anyone else having sleep issues? Any tips? (Don’t think there’s any way we could do full-on controlled crying, even though I know it’s worked for many of you. Apart from me being way, way too soft, it would probably wake Rosemary up and two awake children in the middle of the night is worse than one.)
Usually, when I ask for advice about a sleep issue it turns itself around within a week anyway, but it’s still good to ask.

Please update your blogrolls/links/whatever to the new address: http://www.wahm-bam.org Thank you! The old feed automatically redirects, but it would be nice (if you have the time/inclination/know-how, of course) if you could change your feeds to point to this one (click the RSS posts link in the top, right-hand corner of the blog). Thank you again. (This, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to get back in the Tots100. Nothing whatsoever.
